You're not crazy there's something about them as a group, idk, like even though they aren't all great dancers they're really good at selling choreography somehow? But maybe I am delusional somehow. But man I love when kpop groups do stuff at like awards shows/that kind of thing because you get used to a v specific type of camerawork during the music shows and the people who film awards stuff are like, different! So you see different things!
THE GREAT THING ABOUT SEOHYUN IS AM SURE SHE DOESN'T ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT, she probably had a ~moral crisis~ over singing that line at first
IIIIIII know but it also kind of destroys me that they haven't done covers of more/other dude songs. That is what kpop always needs: more drag. I loved the change stage stuff at one of the Gayo Daejuns in '09 and I was so sad when it didn't happen again this year (f(x) and Kara doing Ring Ding Dong and Sorry Sorry again and HEARTBEAT and also all the guys doing the girl songs, that kind of drag is fun too). AND YES SUITS CONCEPT I was actually thinking about that as I put that in! IT SEEMS SO IMPLAUSIBLE AND YET I WILL HOLD OUT HOPE FOREVER
Ughhhhhh I know I wish they were less willing to do shit like those kind of hours are ridiculous, I kind of want to cry when Jessica comes out all "oh we actually didn't sleep last night" after Yuri said she only got two hours of sleep the night before, like omg how are they alive on that stage let alone smiling
OH MY GOD THEY'RE HORRIFIC, but... such a good song. Such a good mini! But man I always wonder about that kind of stuff too, like... do they say anything? Have they given up yet? DO THEY JUST LOL PRIVATELY TOGETHER NOW? Do they even care? IT'S A MYSTERY.
IT'S NOT SCATTERED I LIKED IT AND ALSO THE FIRST ONE because it pretty much summed up the feelings I have in my heart.
Seriously so much of the time I'm like IF THIS WAS ANY OTHER GROUP...!! Like when I first saw the Mr. Taxi dance I was like da fuck, this only works because it's soshi and they're so fucking TOGETHER. ia about the music show vs. award show camera work, and it's also interesting to see the differences btwn Japanese/Korean camera work bc they both do different bizarre things lol.
omg yes and she ends up going with that line because in the end it's the ~proper way to sing a well-established song and Seohyun will do the faithful proper thing okay. ahh I love her, she's just so completely HERSELF and no one else all the time.
Groups need to interact more, where are all the special stages and stuff now? ;~; (Okay I know why, all the new groups debuting mean that there's no time for those things on music shows anymore but still ;~;) That one cop interrogation commercial they did was sf ace omg. One day, one day!!
Korea in general is crazy about work, it's really gross and worrisome! When I first got into kpop I was DDDD:ing everywhere about how much all these kids worked and how little sleep they all got (lol I was like they should form unions or something ;~;). Man when soshi were all dropping like flies during that first week of their Japan concert tour ;~~~~~~;
It makes me sad to think that if they did care and protest, it was ignored. Or maybe they did and the lyrics used to be even WORSE lol idk. I hope that now that they're getting more creative control we won't have anymore terrrrrrrrible lyrics.
I wish I could talk more coherently/consistently about them! There's just always TOO MANY feelings, it's overwhelming. And I have this weird hang-up where I feel anxious if I only talk about one or two of the members, not out of obligation to OT9!!!11 or anything but bc I honestly love them all and I want to accurately express that lurve. But, like, being thorough and completist like that is exhausting. sigh!
The Mr. Taxi dance stockholmed me pretty fast tbh, the first time I was like "WHAT" but by the second time I was like "oooh". But I know I love to see that too, so weird how stuff like FILMING STYLE ON MUSIC PERFORMANCE SHOWS is slightly different in different countries.
I MISS SPECIAL STAGES SO MUCH THEY ARE MY FAVORITE! But yeah idek there are so many groups now that none of the newbies even get to promote that long, I REALLY FEEL LIKE WE'RE HITTING THE BREAKING POINT THERE.
Yeah it's like a double whammy for them, because the overworked thing is like part of their culture and also part of their personalities? So I kind of feel weird when people comment on how overworked/slave-driven or whatever they are when there's no specific reason to, BUT THEN AT THE SAME TIME THERE ARE VIDEOS LIKE THIS, and yes ugh everyone being sick for the Japanese concert tour, and it's just like they never STOP. Last year when they had time off they all went gallivanting across the globe instead of resting, and it seemed like they weren't doing much in the first half of this year but between the CFs and song recordings and all this new choreography they had to learn for these Japan concerts they were probably working just as much as they do when they're promoting. I DON'T KNOW WHERE THIS PARAGRAPH IS GOING, I just don't know what to do with them sometimes.
Oh my god I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, like it's maybe a little okay if I'm just talking about one of them but if I mention two or more I feel stressed out because what about the other seven?! AM I FAVORING SOMEONE TOO MUCH?! And if I'm talking to someone else about them it's like I'm responsible for bringing up the ones they don't mention, like of all things to be neurotic about why am I like this, NINE IS TOO MANY TO TALK ABOUT EVERYONE ALL AT ONCE ALL THE TIME.
LOL I'm still not used to Japan's super extreme close-ups but I'd take that over like the random shots of the audience etc that Korean shows like to splice in.
kpop is on suuuuch a bubble right now omg. These new groups need to sloooow dowwwn and we need another soloist or something.
And kpop is a fucking emotional rollercoaster; the good things are SO GOOD, but the bad points are all fucking awful. ;~; I really bristle at the THEY'RE ALL OVERWORKED SLAVES too, but... they are overworked!! Oh god I wanted to cry at that video of Sunny at the ending stage of that concert when she was like crying helplessly from exhaustion/sickness/regret idk; especially because she's so dependable (AND SHE'S MY FAVORITE AND I LOVE HER ;~;) and idk they were all sick and it must've been so stressful. Why must it be this way!! I'm glad it's calmed down now though. And I'm really cheesily glad that they have each other idk. I hope they get a really nice long break soon. ;~~;
I knowwwww, I want to be fair and accurate with my love but it's EXHAUSTING. idk why I have this anxiety! It's not like I want to hide that I have a definite favorite (bc I totes do lol, Sunny is my most best greatest girl!!) and it's not that I think not talking about something = disliking it, but idk idk. Somehow it seems like a slight!
Yeah oh my god the number of groups that debuted last year was ridiculous and it seems like this year is even worse? It's just like... idk there's no room for any of them to get anywhere, really. It's kind of sad, because you know debuting is ~the dream~ for a lot of them but a lot of these kids aren't going to get anywhere because there just isn't room for everyone to be a household name anymore. There's hardly room for anyone to be a name anymore.
Oh my god Sunny crying was like THE MOST HEARTBREAKING THING ugh like to be that sick and still have so many concerts coming up, what would you even do :( I really hope so too ;__:
IT IS INEXPLICABLE BUT VERY PRESENT!! And it's like if someone is having a conversation about these three girls it is my personal responsibility to bring up the other six, too. Idek.
