OKAY SO I was compiling a response to this last night before I went to bed and I was like, THIS IS A GOOD COMMENT. Of course, then I woke up and forgot what I was going to say. That happens to me way too often.

ANYWAY. Well, we already kind of discussed "Kissing You" and I never thought about how "Gee" REALLY propelled them. That is a good point. I mean, they were popular before but then they became POPULAR. It will be really interesting to see if they will hit Europe or America, idk how I feel about that!! I seriously eyeheart all of this post. I second the comment above it almost doesn't seem real, that you can know all these people so well and all these interests and personality traits SO COMPLETELY, it is really incredible! The amount they give or show and their ability to make you feel like you CAN be friends or whatever is something else. No wonder why the relationship between kpop idols and fans is so....idk, I want to say UNHEALTHY but not that's exactly it. I didn't know most of this though and I'm really glad I got to hear it from you! omg, TIFFANY's story. I did not know that, all I really knew was that she was from California. and MR. TAE IS REALLY GREAT, I only really knew Tiffany + Jessica vaguely since they were Americans and Taeyeon was the one I knew after them because of We Got Married. I read something once that was like, "I am so sick of those people who are like 'oh yeah I love kpop!!!' but then all they know is Taeyang and Gee" (the "because I want to talk about boring/obscure/irrelevant boybands like Mblaq was implied), which I think is kind of indicative of the power of that song?! IDK SOMETIMES I WANT TO CALL IT ~THE THEME SONG OF THE KOREAN WAVE~ but I'm pretty sure that is me exaggerating because I am a stan. But only a little. But yeah, ever since then a 'flop' for them has become "oh no we only won twice on Music Bank :(". But yeah the Europe thing is actually really smart, their mainstream is a lot more receptive to pop culture outside of their own various countries than the US tends to be? And they also tend to like... that kind of pop music. I understand why JYP sent the Wonder Girls to the US and they've broken some interesting records, but it still kind of seems like a shitty decision, idk. BUT LOL I KIND OF FEEL WEIRD ABOUT HOW MUCH I KNOW ABOUT THEM. But w/e. But I agree, I do think that's why you get an unhealthy relationship between the idols and the fans.

UM PARAGRAPH BREAK FOR NO REASON but seriously, everytime I think about Tiffany too much I tear up a little. LIKE SOMETIMES I WILL BE ON A YOUTUBE BINGE AND END UP WATCHING AN OLD PERF OF THEM DOING INTO THE NEW WORLD, and it's like, "aww bb Tiffany living her dream". And there's this part in Girls Go To School when it's her 18th birthday and she spends it practicing for their debut, but then they throw her a surprise party and she says something about how they're all her family and Taeyeon (I think it was Taeyeon, maybe it was someone else) is like "I'm glad you think that, because we worry about you.) AND THAT ONE THING WHERE SEOHYUN'S MOM COMES TO SEE THEM ON THAT VARIETY SHOW. BASICALLY SHE JUST MAKES ME CRY ALWAYS. ANYWAY THANK YOU FOR THIS COMMENT ELENA, IT MADE ME FEEL ALL WARM AND FUZZY!!!!
