/The walls of RoR show tapestry hangings of all Houses, except Slytherin. Very symbolic. How could JKR forget what she has written & claim Slytherins fought too? I mean, fought against V since we were shown 2 students, who enthusiastically fought for the man./

If she honestly didn't forget, I think that it was just backpedaling on her part just so that the Slytherin fans wouldn't be offended. But you're right, even if somehow the Slytherins did come back, the only names we get are Slughorn and Snape. While Draco was no longer on Voldemort's side, he wasn't definitively on Harry's side either, and his parents just wanted him back, so I don't know if the Malfoys count. So, there you have it, out of all of the Slytherins who could have helped out, we have a morally dubious teacher, a former Death Eater, and Harry's archenemy. We don't have a single Slytherin student, who was completely disassociated with the Death Eaters and who didn't hate Harry, named as being one of the students who willingly fought against Voldemort. Not to mention that even if some of them did want to stay and fight, Minerva didn't give them a chance. She threw them out. She told them to leave along with Pansy. House Unity, my foot.

/Cho Chang enters too and gets promoted to "Harry's old girlfriend". She chooses to sit beside Michael Corner, her HBP & Ginny's OoTF bf, but if you think JKR will let any girl forget the wonder that is HP, just wait./

I thought that Cho's appearance was really random. I also thought that it was random how she was purring over Harry, as if she had completely forgotten what had happened between them in OotP. Besides, since when was Cho flirty? In GoF, she was considerate enough to not wear a "Potter Stinks" badge and to let Harry down gently when he asked her to come with him to the Yule Ball. As far as I can remember from GoF to HBP, she never flirted with Harry or chased after him for his fame. She did go on to date Michael Corner shortly after the break-up with Harry, but we don't know if it's because she was flirtatious with him or was just desperate to get out of the relationship with Harry. So, why was she described as though she were coming onto Harry in this scene, when it doesn't seem to fit with what we've seen of her character?

Cho was a DA member, she had a coin so she received Neville's message. And the message must have specified that this was the big one, because Neville had been using the coins all year to coordinate the rebellion - I doubt Cho and the others hopped in whenever Neville organized something. The fact that Cho was among the early arrivals shows she had her coin handy, she was expecting for something to happen (maybe as soon as she heard of the Gringotts break-in?) and was planning on joining in. Cho arrives before the non-Weasley members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Of the known DA members who were of age the only ones not mentioned at all neither at the battle nor in the ROR are Susan, Justin and Marietta.

(BTW I recall some fans saying clearly Marietta deserved to remain scarred for life because she did not show up for the battle.)

...No. No way. They can't seriously have...

Good grief, did it ever occur to them that maybe she was scared out of her mind and just wanted to go home? Not everybody is a warrior.

Their argument was that since she betrayed the DA in OOTP it was her duty to fight with them in DH.

My mother was raised in an orphanage. Several of the boys targeted one boy, breaking each of his fingers more than once. My mother was reminiscing about old friends once and wondered why this boy never went to the orphanage reunions. I told her that, just maybe, the arthritis he must suffer probably reminds him why he shouldn't go.

Same for Marietta.

With the added factor that Marietta was Obliviated by Kingsley. Which means she doesn't really remember anything but the initial meeting at The Hog's Head. She doesn't remember the full extent of what she betrayed nor what this coin is that sometimes turns warm.

Yet, she should go to her abusers, help them out, worship them. :P

Especially since she has probably also forgotten the defense spells she learned with them.
