I thought Seamus was worse because he was a half-blood.

You may be right. So we get the situation in which pure-blooded Neville stands up to "teachers" much more than half-blooded Seamus (the latter wasn't one of DA leaders), but is punished less. Until Neville violated one too many laws and got seriously targeted.

I don't think the passageway was created for Neville, since imo RoR can't create new things, only transport the most suitable ones among things, which have been lost or thrown away since Hogwarts's foundation. Otherwise, why not create a new working cabinet for Draco in HBP? Remember how Harry saw RoR as the collection of tons of rubbish and valuables, when he hid HBP's book? Obviously RoR consists of 2 parts: the storage of lost things and the room with what's currently demanded by the person in question. Are we told the Marauders discovered the passage ending in the Hog's Head? I remember only the Honeydukes's & Shrieking Shack's ones.

I meant this fic, of course: http://terri-testing.livejournal.com/32351.html#cutid1 (a link for myself in the future too)

I like it that Neville's wording allows even DEs who don't support the Carrows into the room. For all we know, Severus was visiting them at night, making sure they had all they needed in their fort.

LOL! He may have. After all, why suppose he looked after Harry alone?

Interesting. Unless the connection to the other cabinet is not something the Room can create.

We know the Marauders' Map has 7 passages. One went to Honeydukes, one to the Whomping Willow. We do not know where the other 5 led because their destination wasn't on the Map, but we know they all led to Hogsmeade. Of these 5 passages we are told Filch knew of 4 and the 5th had collapsed. But I don't think the ROR connected to one of those because they were known to the staff and were blocked.
