I don't think that I've ever enjoyed voting so much

There's so much about today that is historic, and amazing, and now so very real. But one of the best parts for me was sharing it with my little girl. I took her with me to drop off our ballots, and took pictures (partly to prove it to Ben & Jerry's and partly for her memory) and we discussed what all of that meant. Then we sat together and ate dinner in front of the television, something very rare for us, and I explained what was happening to her. She was so excited and asked lots of questions, and seeing that excitement made me more thrilled than I can articulate. I've loved the political process since I was in high school. I've worked on campaigns and voted in every election since I turned eighteen. Seeing her share that was so, so cool, though I would venture to say that the trip to B&J's may have been part of it (and I have a picture of that to post as well). I love this country and even though I often doubt some of its processes, I still have faith in who and what we are. I am excited to see what will happen over the next four years and to share that with her too, to help her learn to understand the world that she lives in.

life, chie
