The Decline of SNL

Mar 19, 2005 23:54

Wow, SNL needs good writing. I will never understand why Tina Fey is credited for breathing life into SNL, if anything more and more of the sketches fall completely flat. How hard is it to come up with a funny six minute piece? They have a week to hone this stuff to perfection, and then they have the dress rehearsal to run through everything. I remember when I went to the season premiere in 2001. I was there for the dress, and I was home in time to watch the live broadcast. It was surprising to see which sketches were cut. The more funny ones were neglected in favor of characters that were recurring. It was sad, really.

I don't know why I'm talking about this.

Man, I'm consistently posting just before midnight. Hopefully the acknowledgement of this pattern will help me buck the trend. I think SNL is killing my brain cells. Must stop watching now.
