So along with watching three diverse and fascinating Greek tragedies this weekend (The Trojan Women, Agamemnon, and Electra - see
caitirin's post for a more detailed account), we also created characters for
jongleur_gerard's D&D game. We got there late because The Trojan Women went on until 9:15ish, but we still got our character sheets completed, if not our character's completely fleshed out. I've been thinking about it a little more since then, and here's a bio for those interested in such things.
Name: Rye
Species: Sea Elf
Age: Whatever approximates 16ish in elven years
Alignment: Chaotic good
Class: Ranger (underwater kelp forests ftw!)
Eyes: Grey
Skin: A shade brighter than navy blue
Hair: Darkish green-blue
Personality: Despite Ranger stereotypes, he is genuinely friendly, though inexperience in being sociable leads to him sometimes being less suave than he could be. He feels closely connected with nature and animals, especially in regards to the sea, but he also has found that spending a certain length of time alone in the kelp forests gets unbearably lonely.
History: He comes from the Sea Elf realm beneath the waves (I think that's the term they use). His father is an oyster farmer and his mother is a Ranger; he has two sisters, both of whom are Vidare (the druidy sort of this world), and his mother insisted that he carry on the family tradition and become a Ranger in her footsteps. He likes the work itself and the things it generally stands for, but he's gotten tired of going weeks with no one to talk to except the cod. He finally decided that he needed a change. To this end, and to his mother's displeasure, he's gone to the land above the waves to find work there. He ended up in a big, magic-centric city and has showed up for an escort job that was advertised.
More to be added when I come up with it ^_^
