But as he lies awake, his mind is frantic.

The angel who has frequented his dreams drifts into the room again. Her curves are insane. He is slightly more coherent now that he doesn’t feel so strangely thirsty, or…whatever that desire was, and knows he is awake.
“You are,” she whispers. “But it’s okay.”
He hadn’t realized he’d been saying it aloud.
“We all are,” she says. “Except for Carlisle.”
