I was just reading New Moon and this occurred to me:
In this scene, Bella's all, "OMGz. Carlisle's car!112! Jakey@! go BacKz!!@!" And Jake is unsure and they're both trying to make him calm.
The particular scene isn't important. The thing is this: We all know that Edward could seriously hurt her if they get intensely physical. But what about Jake? They (the wolves) all say that they phase when they're angry--but what if it was just extreme emotion that brought it on? Jacob phases at the end of Eclipse. Though we know that he can phase by will, I assume this wasn't a planned thing. I also believe he didn't phase out of anger. It would have been disappointment.
SO. Assuming it's extreme emotion or feeling that causes unintended phasing, would it not be likely to occur if Jacob and Bella had sex, therefore, causing the same danger that it would be if it were Edward instead of Jacob?
This is not an Edward>Jacob thing, I was just thinking. But based on this thought, it seems the both of them are dangerous in a sexual situation. However, Edward would have two ways to harm her--biting or "other" physical harm. Jacob can only physically harm her, as far as we know now.
Sorry this is kind of long. I'm not going to put it under a cut though 'cause it's not that long.
(If someone wants me to, though, just let me know.) :)
