Bleh!!

It was a nice, quiet morning here downtown. The breeze was blowing in the transom window, birds were singing, there weren't loud motorcycles going by in front of the store or anything.  The store didn't even smell like "south american fusion" food from the restaurant next door as it sometimes does on a Monday ( Read more... )

*snerkle* For some reason, that's all rather amusing/endearing to me. Well, the "charlie" remark was treading on it, but otherwise I liked.

You should come hang out on my stoop. I think they'll be back from lunch around 2-ish. haha They've been at it again today. The subject seems to mostly be how lazy the guys who didn't show up on time are, and then they all just now went to lunch after only working about an hour.

*snicker*

Seriously, since starting this whole stone mason research, I've noticed myself getting more and more curious about the "secret lives" of construction workers.

Hmm, that sounds like some sort of rejected HBO series.

Rather slow right at the moment because I'm limited to mostly internet sources. I need to go up to Eureka Springs and stay for a little while, checking out their library and the Carroll County Library and the Historical Museum, etc. to really get going, but I'm financially thin right at the moment. My dad was talking about going up with me for a few days as a present of sorts...which would be nice if we stayed at the Crescent because as skeptical and scholarly as I am, I'm also a huge weenie. I don't want to stay in a "haunted" room all by my lonesome if I don't have to. ;-P

In the mean time, I'm scouring the web and the historical archives/search engines that I do have access to at the university library and building up secondary sources and a game plan for more research.

Well, if you want to stay in 218 there is only one full size bed and it takes up damn near the entire room. There is seriously about a foot and a half between the end of the bed and the door to the bathroom. You do get really great balcony access though.

There are several way cheaper hotels to stay at in Eureka too.
