(no subject)
This morning I awoke to what I thought was a small scale forest fire in my bedroom, but then realised that I had forgotten to close my bedroom window the night before and it was just the Burns Bog smell infiltrating my room. I had planned on going to metro town today to sell my soul to the GAP for khaki pants {I have to do job training soon}, but I figured I would wait until the air became a little clearer. That and I was feeling lazy, so any excuse sounded good :P
The first day of school came and went without any disaster. My Psychology 2320 {Intro to Research Methods} class is a lot smaller than what I’m used to. There’s probably only 15 or 20 students enrolled, which is a relief because I was worried that I would have to do a massive seminar presentation in front of 100+ students. The instructor is really nice, he’s the same one I had last semester so I’m used to his teaching methods. We were talking about our upcoming massive research experiment the other day, and everyone was tossing ideas around. I told him that I was thinking of expanding on my research that I did in Psych 1115 regarding the effect of background noise on short term memory/ concentration, and he was very encouraging. He suggested that I should also try and figure out a way to not just measure one type of memory, but to try and discover ways to measure Episodic memory, Procedural memory and Semantic memory also. I’m definitely going to have my work cut out for me this semester. Oh, it also turns out that Zach, an old friend of Calen’s is in my class! {Jen, Jess, Christel…remember him?} I felt a little bad because I didn’t even recognize him at first. So far our class hasn’t had to do a lot of work, just the usual chapter readings and note taking. I managed to get everything done early, so for the past couple of days I’ve allowed myself to slack :P
I forgot to mention that a couple weeks ago I went down to Broadway and took the ICBC knowledge test. I ended up passing with 95%, and my Learners License came in the mail a few days ago! My excitement was short lived though, since now I need to save up and buy a car. I’ve been looking around, and a couple have caught my eye. One of them was listed in the online Buy and Sell: Here. Thank god I’m starting a new job soon. I know it’ll be awhile until I manage to get a new car, but it’s a goal worth working for :D
For those of you who care, I posted a new picture on deviantart: XD. I can’t even begin to describe how hard it was to finish the line art for that picture. I had no idea how to use the pen tool in adobe (don’t laugh, I’m pretty adobe illiterate :P), so I had to learn everything from scratch. It looks somewhat decent though, and soon I’ll concentrate on CGing it. Unfortunately, now that school has started I have all these ideas I want to get started on, but not enough time. Between struggling with stats and trying to earn a living, it’ll be amazing if I end up with any free time at all!
Well, I guess that’s it for this random update :P I’m going to go and experiment in Adobe then grab some sleep.
