Last night after class my nemesis, Kyle, hung out at the house and we partook of "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels". Now, I should explain something. Kyle is not my nemesis in the sense of being my enemy. Far from it, in fact. No, Kyle is simply my rival, in a warm, friendly, but still competitive way. We keep each other on our toes, especially when it comes to design. We first met last semester in Typography I, and this semester we share Typography and Layout and Illustrator. His critiques are complete, blunt, and truthful. When I first met him, I was taken aback that this kid, this fellow student, felt he had the right to give me a harsher critique than my teacher, now I welcome it. I respect Kyle's opinion, although we don't always agree when it comes to design styles.
He's currently trying to put together a graphic design company with one of his high school friends. It sounds like his friend is just along for the ride, so my hope is that I can convince Kyle to work with me as well. It would be a trifecta of pure awesomeness. PURE. Awesomeness.
