AHHHHH! What an awesome day! I went to Gardner with my recruiter...I met my platoon sergeant, and I got my unit patches for my uniform. Its all so sweet! and all too real!!! As I looked around my sergeant's office, I saw all his pictures with the guys from Bravo. At the moment it dawned on me that these are the men I would be fighting with if we got sent to Iraq. It was a really weird feeling. It wasn't a scary feeling, and it wasn't a sad feeling...it was more of a somber "okay, let's do this...bring it on." kinda feeling...if that makes any sense. But yeah Dan and I are both in the same company (Bravo), same platoon (1st), and same squad...that basically means we will be right next to eachother if and when the bullets start flying. This is all so cool. I got this wave of excitment when I was there...The beginning of the rest of my life just started. Everyone of you will experience this feeling whether it be after graduating high school or graduating college. But for me, my life dropped into 3rd gear when I joined up...and its the greatest feeling in the world.
