We got pardons from our cubicle prison cells early yesterday, at 2pm. Free from work, my co-worker and drinking mate Robert & I reconvened at
O'Briens Pub where we met up with the wife and our buddy Todd. Another regular of the group, Joe, showed up a bit later. It was good to see everyone. Since I've been avoiding the food and beer, I have not been by the pub in about a month. I made it an "off" day for my caloric intake count and enjoyed a few pints from
Moonlight Brewing of the Northern California region rarely seen down this way and very good stuff!
Domestic chores today. I have to change the gas fitting on the new dryer since it was set for propane and the house is on natural gas. I've already been to the home brew supply store to pick up a few items I needed for tomorrows brew session. I need to finish cleaning out the closet in the purple room. The "purple room" is the third bedroom in the house and the previous owners had sponge painted with a deep lavender color paint. There's also a wacky border along the top. When we moved in the new owner told us we could repaint it if we wanted. Since we were just using at a room to hold additional crap, we didn't bother. About a month ago I moved the computer & desk from the office that had been built into the garage, to the purple room. The garage office was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. There's still some boxes of crap laying about the room that has been in here since we moved in. Some memorabilia and other assorted stuff that can go into the room in the garage as long term storage, some stuff for Goodwill, and probably some stuff that can just be tossed. As long as the result is less stuff, I will be happy. Then I can go get new stuff, ha! Any time we clear something out we always find something else to go there.
I just received our latest Netflix shipment, Jackass 2 & Talladega Nights. How's that for some real highbrow entertainment? Not quite Kurosawa, but sometimes you just need a stupid laugh.
