The Gauntlet

Public schools start next week. I have to go met with my cooperating teacher for student teaching. For those who don't know, student teaching is like having a full-time teaching job. You show up before the first bell and you stay until the last bell (or later). You teach all day with your cooperating teacher. You don't get paid though. Instead, you have to pay tuition. That's right. 12 graduate credits. Meanwhile I have to pay my rent, so I have a part time job. Did I mention they placed me 40-60 minutes from my apartment and my job? This means that on most days (I say most because I won't be working on Tuesdays), I'll be leaving my apartment at 7 am, teaching from 8am to 3pm, then hauling myself accross town and working from 4:30pm to 9:30pm. Sounds like an awesome time right? Well it's a good thing I like teaching and I like my job.
