I think I'm finally getting close to figuring out exactly what I will do next semester. Im pretty excited, Ive gotten involved in a few things.
Its amazing how easy it appears to be to be able to get a TA position here. I applied for a position for three bio classes - and eventually I got replies from all three. I chose to go with Intro Bio...it fits with my schedule the best, and will probably be the easiest to do. I essentially did it so I could meet people and have something else to add to my resume. I met with the guy in charge of coordinating everything for that class in his office today, and it seems like I essentially have it.
I guess I'm actually going to be in charge of leading a small class once every two weeks. That will be very interesting. Im also gonna have to be around during the labs making sure everything is going smoothly.
The other new thing Im doing is the Evos seminar. I joined a special Evolutionary Studies program that they have here - its only 20 credits (and I already have 8 credits that count). 4 of those credits are also given by taking the seminar class twice...which is basically reading papers, and talking about them with professors over pizza and beer on Fridays.
The other classes Im taking are:
-Botany
-Human Genetics
-Cell Bio Lab
They all should be good. All this plus the usual Ballroom and College Dems should give me a nice, busy semester.
