Is an amazing series. Im gonna go on a little nerd speech on how much I love it. All the others, exept TNG, pale in comparison - I made a mistake in neglecting it over the summer when I got into my Star Trek frenzy.
I recently got DC++ and starting downloading more episodes. Everyone in the school connects to the same hub, and since we are all connected to the schools network, episodes ussually take less than a minute to download. So I have an endless resource at my disposal.
DS9 definately has a different mood than TNG. Its usually darker, often pointing out how things in the future arent all great. The characters and the stories are just more believable, interesting, and less cheesy than they often are Voyager, and they regularly make you think. Plus there are more character crossovers from TNG (Worf is a main character starting in season 4, and Chief O'Brien is a main character through the whole series). There are also more long story arcs than in TNG, and the Federation goes to war in the later seasons.
Voyager and Enterprise are crap compared to DS9. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna stop watching the them. They have their moments. I cant decide which is worse, though.
Ive also watched a few episodes from The Original Series. I haven't quite made up my mind about that one yet. Its from the 60's, so its considerably aged compared to the others...I have to take that into consideration. One episode I saw was really, really good. Another was really, really bad. So I don't know. I'll have to watch more.
Whats awesome about Star Trek is that there are literally hundreds of hours of entertainment. Its gonna be a long time before I finish!
Yes, I am now a Trekkie. Star Trek is like, the ideal future. No wars (among humans, at least). Everyone is progressive and secular, and there is no religion at all (among humans). Disease and poverty are gone. There is life everywhere in the universe. Humanity is exploring the galaxy with all sorts of amazing technology. Its perfect. It takes me away from the dismal reality we all live in.
