[El's apartment] The subtle differences

Aug 05, 2006 02:42

Watching over Sands has become far more of a full-time caretaking job since the curse began. It hasn't been all that bad in comparison to other things the agent has gotten himself into, though. In fact, if he'd admit it, some of this has actually been enjoyable for El. The effects of the curse have dulled the sharp edges of Sheldon's personality and, at times -such as when he's in his seal skin- he's particularly childlike..which is amusing.

Right now, however, El would like at least a moment to be completely dry. He won't be argued with when he suggests they go upstairs for a few hours and get out of the flood. He's incredibly thankful to be on such a high floor, though the moisture and downed electricity means that his guitar can not be kept in tune. It's frustrating. Just as well, though , since there is no one who wants to hear him play and it's been hard to get a moment alone.

He leads Sands into the small front room and heads back towards his bedroom.
"Try to entertain yourself for just a minute. I'm going to put something dry on."
There's a second's pause in both words and the jingle of his steps.
"Don't leave."

((NC-17 Warning goes where?))
