I'm realizing more and more that I'm liking stage management less and less. Not in like a "fuck you! stage management" way at all, but in a "I'm getting bogged down in politics and department stuff and I really kind of want to be an artistic free spirit" sort of way.
I got asked to make some dead bald eagles as a props item for a show. I'm really excited by this, as morbid as it may seem, it's actually an interesting challenge and something I'm sure to have fun working on. I'm planning on taking off in a bit and going to survey my office to see what useful craft items I've squirreled away there.
I'm planning on sculpting beaks out of clay, and doing talons out of wire covered with clay. This clay being the self-hardening kind that you can paint when dry.
I need to find styrofoam for the body, and then feathers for the head and tail and body. I think wings will be feathers glued to brown fabric and then tacked to the body for added dimension. I think if I have the time, I can dry brush some dirt and grime onto the feathers for added grossness.
Oh yes. I am a woman on a mission. To re-create dead bald eagles.
