Okay, seriously. I just got a new job. IT'S IN SALES! It's business experience, which I need to get into any pharmaceutical company or any hospital management position. It's with a company so respected that colleges teach their training course as a class and accept working with them as college credits. The boss I have is awesome and about my age ( Read more... )

Worry not; my dad does something similar. Every time I try to move towards the type of job I'd like to have, he goes into his "you won't like it don't even try blah blah" thing.

Know that you're not alone!

If you think you should go for it, then go for it. Even if it doesn't work out, it was a good experience for you, and a step in the direction you want to move in.

What. That's awful.

Not the job, though. That sounds pretty amazing. Way different fields, but you've always been pretty convincing when it comes to RP ads, so I know you've got at least the basic skillset. Go succeed and be awesome.

That's terrible! I can relate, but only with how my dad is. To have this coming at you from both parents... I'm so sorry.

I have faith in you! We all do. Keep at the job and show them that you really can succeed in sales!

Wow, I have to say good luck with the sales. I know I've been avoiding that line of work myself, but you can make pretty good money if you know what you're doing.

Also that's a pretty lame thing for parents to do.

It seems everyone's relatives are constantly ragging on them lately. The lack of faith is extremely discouraging. D8

Good luck with the job, though! Kick its ass! And then rub that kicked ass in your parents' faces. That always feels good.
