captcha discriminates against the blind and visually impaired.
during some downtime today some of my students came to the classroom just to listen to music and play games with me. one of them brought one of those sucker-dart guns, and we used the foam apple from the fruit unit and the pink sequined cowboy hat (i have no idea why this abomination is in the english office but it is) to do the william tell scenario. we also tried sticking the dart to specific targets like the badge of a slowly swiveling fan, a water bottle that we placed in different places, objects lofted into the air, and the light switch. i actually really enjoy the part of my job that involves non-verbal communication with my students. even if we're having to gesture and use broken language, it's still fun. then they actually practiced english and did some of the activities that we had done in class earlier this week. i can't decide whether i still hate kids.
