What I don't like.

I don't much care for streets. Or street names. And I have a very bad memory when it comes to re-finding places I rarely visit, which is probably an Asperger thing. So I usually prefer to look things up online so I know where to go, or I depend on other people to find places for me. That is after all what online maps are there for, to help me find places and make sure I don't use up valuable brain space on maps when it could be used for important things like planning Sims 2 legacies or counting down days til the next Dresden Files book comes out or making lists in my head on whether or not I think Castiel is prettier than Dean Winchester. And the people I ask for directions usually like me enough to help, since they're my family and are contractually obliged to do so. They are also aware of my disability and always make sure I know where to go, almost like I'm a small child going to grandma's for the first time.

So I was going to get my hair cut today. Finding the place was as easy as a small pancake, but I hate street names and also didn't need them in this case, since it was easier to just memorise how to walk from the subway station. I did now it was in a crossing between Götgatan and some other street, that was good enough for me.
DINNER LAST NIGHT
Dad: So you know where it is tomorrow, Josefin?
Me: Yep. It's Götgatan and some other street... Real easy to find my way from the subway.
Dad: Which other street?
Me: I want to say Kungsgatan...
Dad: *laughs* It's funny because they don't cross. They're not even in the same parts of town.

And yeah, I guess it is a little funny. But maybe my family could give me a little credit here, instead of focusing so much on streets. Streets aren't always important if you know where to go anyway.

At least I know exactly where I am most of the time.
