Yeah, I've been listening to a lot of Fidlar lately. A lot of Bleached. A lot of The Orwells.
It's been wonderful.
Things have been pretty crazy lately. Work is always busy. Always a million things to do and never enough time to get things done. School has been hard as hell, but ultimately rewarding. I'm consistently the highest grade on the class. I've been tutoring several different study groups from all over the place. One in Temecula, Orange county and L.A.. There's between 5-10 people per group. That's pretty rad. It's helped me learn a lot. I guess it's part of that whole "Learn, Recite, Teach" thing.
Went to an advanced 8 hour class last week. Got to taste $826.00 worth of wine from all the regions of France and Italy. It was amazing.
Went to hear Master Sommelier Michael Jordan lecture for 4 hours at the San Antonio Winery by downtown. He walked us through the deductive tasting method on 8 different glasses. SO fucking rad. Can't believe I get paid for this.
With just a little luck, by Sept. 20th I'll have my level 1 somm cert. Then after that I'm gonna work on my level 1 cicerone cert. That one should be easier by many degrees. Should have it all taken care of by January. Fingers crossed.
Haven't really had time for anything else. Work and class puts me at a 50 hour week. Plus I'm studying another 5-8 hours a day. That math is hard. Especially when you're trying to fit friends in.
Other than the above . . .Like always, feeling nostalgic. Dropped market off in Puente the other day. Just had to drive by the old neighborhood. Cruised by my old house. Past the high school. Parked at rimgrove park for a minute and had a smoke. Lot's of memories. Sitting on Wendy's front lawn and talking all afternoon. I miss that. That kind of happiness seems so far away. . . That's the thing about time. I hate it.
Looking forward. Excited about class. Got some conference calls. Study groups. Work. Can't Wait!
But until then. Here's my new favorite song <3
