E3 2007!

I don't know how I feel about E3 being downsized, and moved to the summer. Maybe it is a good thing.

Sure, most people have an abundance of free time during the summer. But it's been at least three years since that was the case for me.

Moving it to summer was actually a good move, despite my whining about lack of time (I havn't been paying much attention this time around, unlike previous years). Why is it good? Summertime has historically been a slow moving news period. Why? People go on vacation, enjoying the sites, or whatever humans typically like to do for fun. For instance, in tech news, only two major events happened. The iPhone (Which I ignored until I saw an interesting video titled "iPhone: Will it blend," now THAT is news), and the "Day of Silence," both of which occurred late June.

So having it in the summer helps the news be more visible, I suppose, at least to those not on vacation.

What I really want to see is great games coming out AT THE BEGINNING of summer, not the end, like Bioshock, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and Guild Wars: Eye of the North. We have awesome games come out right before Christmas, when most high school students have maybe two weeks of school off, but when they have like 3 months off, NOTHING. Whatever, not like I have time to kill anyways, anymore.

Anyways, I stumbled onto Gamespot.com (one of my usually-daily-websites-I-visit-for-a-few-minutes) and discovered this gem of news. Honestly, this was my biggest reason for wanting an Xbox 360 (I'm suspending my judgment on Halo 3 after the horrible job they did on Halo 2; I remain optimistic that they will not make the same mistake, and even if they do, it will be the last game in the series).

But! GEARS on the PC?! Only problem I see is that Microsoft will likely want to make it a Vista exclusive, so you'll have to find a crack to get it to work on XP. Good news is that I will have access to the MSDNAA via DVC by the time it is released, so I can get a free copy of Vista :)

EDIT: Looks like it will be on XP as well according to BeyondUnreal.com: "The game will be available this holiday on XP and Vista and will ship with the five new chapters, a new multiplayer mode, and the editor."

For anyone interested, there is still one day left of E3. Let me know if you find anything else interesting.

In personal news, I only have two weeks of school left! The last week is going to be hell.
