Last night in my little chitter chatter conversations, I found from a few people that the weather where they are would be rainy today. In honour of those unfortunate souls, today I went out for a 5.8 mile walk with my dog Benjamin and a digital camera at the beach in the sun. I love walking and sometimes feel that I could walk forever. I wore a cute yellow tank top and Ben sported a pink hair tie to show his feminine side. We coordinated my flip flops and his leash to match and got compliments on it. We also got kisses blown at us. It took a little less than three hours one way. Our route is lined in white (just imagine it's connected):

The barely visible numbers are the points at which i took the pictures. Green star = start.

ONE

This is the top of Superior Hill. It is really lovely to be driving along Superior Avenue and reach the peak of this hill and see the ocean.

TWO

The Santa Ana River joining the ocean. The only river I know with a cement bottom (which ended just below this bridge).

THREE

I love how the sand forms dunes behind the sand barriers. It reminds me of Lawrence of Arabia or something.

FOUR

*collective "awwwww" from crowd*

This is little Ben all tuckered out from our walk so far. He's just about ready to take on the home stretch after lapping up some water at the public sink. Then my camera battery crapped out on me because I had not charged it in two weeks (oops!). I was a little disappointed but soon got over it.

Our journey ended near the Huntington Beach pier, where I got some strawberry banana ice cream on Main Street and shared the cone with Ben. Then my friend picked us up and we went home.

The end :)
