Stash from Toycon:
- The Evangelion remake movies
- Blue Literature (an animated miniseries of novels turned into anime)
That's it.
There was a good Peashooter in pot there, but was a little over my budget so it wasn't bought.
I refused to give a seller the satisfaction of being duped by seriously obviously fake Vongola Rings, Mare Rings, and pacifiers. I mean, I'm not above buying made-in-Taiwan, but they were awful, not-even-close knockoffs. Pink pacifier, for example. Marbly purple pacifier. Just awful. I do want merch, but not that desperately.
There was a really good Shizuo and Celty there, incredible how the Shizuo kept in character in the cramped place and the heat. Hakuoki's Hijikata and Saitou were also around, two girls. I think I saw one member of an Angel Beats team. There was a Code Geass team. There was an impressive Heavyarms Custom, I think it was, as cosplay. There were also several impressive game-based, heavily-armored cosplay there. I saw a Primo and a Colonello and several Chromes but no complete groups when I left. However most of the cosplay when I left was meh.
I did see a
blissery and a
touyatouya there, I couldn't believe my good fortune. Toycon is no place to be finding people you don't enter with, so it was great that I ran into them.
Oh, there were Gosengfiaos there, but if it says anything about Animax right now, the Gosengfiaos and whatever Animax was doing on stage was virtually ignored. People posed with them though.
- Ate yogurt at Red Mango
- Brought home some Roti Mum coffee buns
But seriously. I'm getting too old for conventions. Or I'm getting too withdrawn from the world, assemblies like that exhaust me and seem pointless now. Maybe both. Conventions in this country are not things you enter when you're sunk, and unfortunately I entered it sunk. Oh well.
That's it.
