Well just on 3 eps:
- Their version of Uesugi Kenshin is WAY too overdecked. Even Gackt wasn't this overdecked in the NHK version. It's hard to accept, with that voice and THAT getup, how Uesugi could be loved by such a sexy woman.
- Romi Paku does emotions really well, but she can't seem to change voices. So Uesugi sounds like Ed sounds like Katsushiro. In this case it doesn't work.
- Not like Takehito Koyasu, who is obviously doing Basara's Sasuke. While he sounds similar, he doesn't sound exactly like Ukyo.
- Getting to be a fan of Masamune (WITH the Engrish), Katakura (Masamune's right-hand), Sasuke, Keiji (guy with monkey). ^^v Yukimura is also cool, but not my type.
And for the life of me, there is only one Kenshin to me, and his hair is red. So you'll forgive me if I call him Uesugi. It rattles my redhead-fan-for-life brain.
On 8 eps:
So far it's not getting a lot of love from me. Oh, the art is awesome as Production I.G. can make it, and the characters are interesting, but quite frankly I'm not seeing the point. All I'm getting so far out of Sengoku Basara is some explanation of what I was looking at in the NHK serious drama of this time period. OH, so Uesugi sided with Takeda, and Tokugawa was on the opposite side, that kind of understanding. Beyond the history lesson, it's fun to watch all the battles but they don't draw me in as much as I wanted.
Then again this is probably just me being down lately. ^^;;
