NEWS - Sakura Girl single comment
i am listening to NEWS new single, Sakura Girl for the first time now. i know i'm late for a few months, but *shrugs* Sakura Girl didn't really attract my attention when i heard the radio rip.
so, now, just a mini comment about the single and the songs in it, plus some random rambling =P
Anata Tonari ni Iru Dake de:
this is the first time i heard the song, it got me within the first few seconds. i'm a sucker for anything with piano accompaniment and mellow soothing melody ^^
i was listening to the voices very closely coz i haven't been listening to NEWS for quite some time now, and this single is new, and by the middle of the song, the 3rd minute, i still hadnt picked up tego's voice and i went whaaaaat??? such a nice mellow song and they're completely ignoring tego???? then suddenly he came, singing a line, and that's it.
i went, "?????????" i couldn't even hear him clearly in the chorus, really, all i picked up was massu's voice...
then again, maybe massu's voice is more suitable for this kind of song soothing and cute instead of powerful and raw =)

i'm listening this for the second time.... and... and.... OMO i found out that i completely missed tego's voice right at the start, after kei-chan!!! oh dearrrr tego, why, have you learnt to reign in your voice and control your vibrato??????? LOL i was thinking that it was massu's voice!!!! xDDDD gomenne, tegonyan xDDDD *huggles tego* i'm proud of you, you bratty spoiled erojii *_*
come to think again (listening to the 3rd time) maybe i got too used to listening to vibratos everywhere that when it was tuned down i missed it? i mean, junsu's vibrato is notoriously everywhere, and jaechunhomin's voice, too, has obvious vibrato at the end, especially in Toki wo Tomete. and i'm actually used to tego showing off his vibrato in high clear voice that when he suddenly went soft i missed it. but, after listening closely again (4th, 5th time), his is still the only one with vibrato in NEWS. it was subtle, but it was there. and if i had been listening properly (instead of while typing like this), i would have picked up this lone vibrato voice.

and massu. what sweet sweet sweeeeet voice *_*
sometimes pi-chan has really nice vibrato too =) practice more, pi-chan ^__^ i really like his bridge. pi-chan sings a little bit like yoochun, with an obvious jump from normal to falsetto, and it's cute when he does that. not to mention pi-cha never fails to sound so, so, sooooo gentle and tender and sweet ♥ ♥ ♥

the song is upbeat and tego's voice was heard first ^^ and he has a whole bridge for himself, as usual, and the normal adlib parts. such a pity this song doesn't move me as much as Anata Tonari Iru Dake De.
Love Melodies:
is it just me or does this song remind you of V6? =D it sound so very V6... in particular, Ai no Uta came to mind =D
normal poppish song ala johnnys, i'd say. definitely not one of those fall-in-love-at-first-hearing song.
Sakura Girl:
while the original version sounds okay, the accapella version sounds cool =) yamapi's voice can be heard clearly throughout.
my mind wandered about when listening to this song. i suddenly wondered what it would be to have Tohoshinki sing something like this.... while some of Toho songs sound jpop-ish enough that i can imagine NEWS singing them (like Shine, or Summer Dream), but i can't imagine them singing something like, for example, Nantoka Narusa lol ^^
i want a new Tegomasu single. i'm completely in love with "yoru wa hoshi wo nagamete okure", totally totally in love with it. i feel bad for saying, but i like "tegomasu no ai" the single much better than "tegomasu no uta" the album. while in tegomasu no uta i can count with fingers which song that i like (other than their previously released-as-asingle songs), in tegomasu no ai i like almost everything. so, i'm kinda not disappointed that i didn't buy tegomasu no uta but went to preordered tegomasu no ai =) i wish they would scrap off this idea of one-year-one-single idea and release more singles/albums please... i miss tego's voice =(
i'm entertaining the thoughts ot yamapi and jaejoong going to karaoke together and singing each other's song...LOL!!!! manz, what would i not give to listen to jaejoong singing Ai Nante, or Loveless.... or yamapi singing Stand By U 0____0 that's gonna be a sad sad song with pi-chan's voice in it ._.
