Sesame Street - wtf happened to you?!

I have decided to let Alex watch tv for one hour a day. Sesame Street is the reason that Jon knew the alphabet at 18 months. And no matter what the AAP says, one hour a day will not render my son brain dead. He's fascinated for a few minutes at a time (his attention span is still about 30 seconds).

It's not as good as I remember (which has been established time and time again). I want to find some old school Sesame Street tapes or dvds. My main issue, so far is this - how the heck is Alex supposed to learn how to talk when Little Bear can't pronounce his damn "r"s. It's excruciating to listen to him say "beaw" and "bowwow". What kind of example is this setting?!

On the bright side, Elmo's World isn't as long as I thought. They still do the Spanish word of the day. The characters are mostly the same.

At least Noggin shows old school Blue's Clues. And Oswald!!

For the curious, at 9 months, Alex is just about 30" tall, and 23 lbs. Considering that I am 63" tall, he is almost half my height now.
