just another day... *sigh*

Just in case anyone was wondering... my life, it's still Murphy's Law.

Let's talk about yesterday. For some reason we had no internet all day. And the computer monitor wouldn't turn on for very long anyway. So I gave up and spent the last of our money one some food. And when I got home I realized that somehow the gas was off. It's pretty ironic that things start going off now that we're caught up on all of the bills for the first time in months. So, not only could we not cook or do laundry... we had NO HEAT! It's been FREEZING here for the last week, mid 20's to 30's. We bundled up Alex and slept with two comforters.

So today, instead of merely registering for PRAXIS I and catching up on all the work I have to do this week, I had to:
*call the gas company and attempt to not be a bitch. The only reason I was not a bitch was they were very apologetic and promised someone today

*register for PRAXIS I, which involved calling two different phone numbers since I couldn't look up the number online

*go ALL the way out to Best Buy to buy a new monitor (there is not a Best Buy close to us, it involves at least a half hour drive each way if traffic doesn't suck), and max out my credit card.

*hook up said new monitor, which involved untangling dusty cords and make sure I unplugged the right things

As an added bonus, we got three huge boxes in the mail from Jon's parents containing Alex's bajillionty Christmas gifts that didn't fit in our suitcases.

On the bright side:
+the hot water tank is electric

+I kicked ass on PRAXIS II on Saturday (I won't get my score for a month, but I KNOW I kicked its ass)

+I get to take PRAXIS I Thursday morning, so I should get both scores back within days of each other (hooray for being hirable!)

+I got a pretty good deal on a monitor and since it was a display item, I got a $40 gift card with it

+since I was already all the way in Summerlin, I stopped and had lunch with Jon; and I had a chipotle chicken salad, which is not only yummy, but it also keeps me on my "eat better" resolution

+Alex has his bajillionty new toys here to play with

+the gas man came while I was out! Oh blessed heat!

So I have 2 hours in which to do 10 hours of work. And all I want to do is take a nap... it's a good thing I'm used to this crap my life
