Ca-razy Comic-con

Jul 24, 2006 11:06

I dunno how people manage to go to all 4 days of Comic-Con. o_O I ended up going on Saturday and Sunday only, and my joints are so damn sore from the non-stop walking.

In all, it was an interesting experience. Not too different from an anime convention in some respects, but a lot bigger and packed with more professional stuff. ...and a ton of stormtroopers.

What pissed me off was realizing waaaay after the fact that Steve Purcell had actually BEEN there at his own booth, and I hadn't seen him. I was even wearing my Sam and Max shirt on sunday too! ;_;

I missed out on the spider-man 3 panel (and video) mostly because the line for it was ridiculously long, but I'm guessing that'll be circulating the net by the end of today, if not sooner.

Went to a Simpsons panel where they showed two clips from the upcoming movie, and I managed to record them on my dinky camera... uploaded them here:

I love how the first question in their Q&A was actually about how glad someone was that Futurama was coming back, LOL! They looked a tad nonplussed that it wasn't a simpsons question.

There was also an awesome voice actor panel that had Billy West, who is always awesome. That's another guy I had wish I had known had a booth... I would've loved a pic with him.
Here's a little snippit of an amusing anecdote Bob Bergen (one of the other VAs at the panel... the official voice of Porky Pig, among other things) had about imitating mark hamill for the star wars games:

I also have some wacky pictures, but they involve me being very dorky, so I might have to wait til a later date to show them here, lol...

In all, Comic-con was a very crazy experience, but I'll probably want to do it again next year. ... that, and E3. :3
