Today, I went ice skating with Jason's mom and sisters, and it was super fantastic. I want the entire rink for my birthday. Who will donate? Sarah and I have decided that we will acquire Skate World someday after winning the lotto and refurbish it. When we are finished, it will be the supreme place to be in Lakeland at night. Just you wait and see. Roller karaoke, anyone?
My Thanksgiving is shaping up to be interesting. Laura invited all of us except for Josh (biological brother) to Orlando to eat with Josh's (not-so-biological brother's) family. When I spoke to her tonight, she told me that his mom plans to make a ham because "white people like ham." I admit, pigs are rather tantalizing, but I was unaware that only white people feel this way. Hispanic people put pork flavor in their rice! Don't they enjoy ham, as well? Anyhow, I hope she doesn't go out of her way. I'm not sure if I can eat ham and turkey together.
My dad is giving Laura a hard time because he wants to see Revan, but he isn't sure he's willing to go to Orlando without Josh, and he claims that he was previously uninvited, himself. Apparently, he is too embarrassed by my mom's disposition to meet the De Leons in her presence. Granted, she will probably refuse to eat anything more substantial than a grape tomato, and she is the "other" in that she's white and consumes ham when she does eat at three a.m., but I'm not sure why my dad thinks that he is any different. I'm pretty sure his genetics are responsible for the social retardation that afflicts most of the Helms.
Who knew that Beyonce was only 25? This makes me feel decidedly unsuccessful.
