the first interesting stop was an ostritch farm, of all things. from the
legs down, these birds look like dinosaurs.
skyler showed zach and me this beautiful sinkhole filled by an underground spring
running into it. stunning does not describe the feeling of being in this primordial place.
the water here is truly the freshest and cleanest i have ever experienced.
there are a few rocks to leap from. not only is it beautiful, but it is also extraordinarily fun.
there are some enormous trees in our new yard. this one dwarfs
slinky, which is pretty hard to do.
after spending a week of ten hour days repairing the new house, i end up in the smoky mountains.
this place has some of the most marvelous scenery i've ever known.
it's really hard to articulate in either pictures or words how enormous
mountains really are.
here i look like shit but i feel more alive than ever.
immersion in nature is really good for your soul.
what's happening in this photo? well, kenny is considering his options for escape from a
really pissed off rattlesnake he stumbled upon. i'm not shitting you.
the mountains in summer are really breathtaking.
everything is alive at this time of year.
this is easily the most concrete i have ever seen. the fontana dam, while manmade, is just as
astounding as anything else i saw in carolina. it's just simply immense.
at times, it seemed surreal.
we may never know.
i listened to a lot of boards of canada on this trip. this music as a backdrop was very suitable.
take my advice, and try using headphones when exploring new places.
there was a lot of exploring to do. i love exploring. therefore
i had almost too much fun.
we stopped in atlanta on the way back down towards
home. this city soars. it's such an interesting and
inspiring landscape.
olympic centennial park wasn't remarkable, but still very pleasant.
