So I'm just muddling through another day at work, hoping to make it through the end of July, then quit. Unless I find another job before then... As much as I really hate it here, and I imagined my life at this age WAY more exciting, it can always be way worse.
There was an article in the Westword this week about a man that went to the detainment center for illegal aliens and lost his leg. The center (a prison, really, since you can't leave until they say so) was so dirty and covered in human excrement that he developed pneumonia, sepsis, abnormal blood chemistry, and other various gross things from the streptococci, etc, growing there. He almost died, and that's how he lost his leg.
All because he wanted to come here and work. Something I hate to do everyday was this man's biggest dream. Now he's here living with his brother, only has one leg and can't find work.
Just puts things in perspective, I think my salary is small, to him it would be a fortune. Funny the things we get used to and take for granted.
