I just finished watching "Siegried" (part III of Wagner's Ring Cycle).  I didn't enjoy it as much as The Valkyrie --- I know we are supposed to suspend belief when watching opera, but Siegfried and Brunhilde looked a bit silly lolling around and singing at each other because they were most definitely *NOT* teenagers --- even with makeup, both

Apparently the Ring Cycle is performed in its entirety here in Seattle once a year. When the last Tolkien movie was coming out, the opera house used it as a hook to advertise their Ring Cycle by going into the connections. According to the news from then, the performance sells out very quickly every year because it's not commonly performed around the country and there are people who will travel hundreds of miles to see it.
