Another way to learn a language

Okay, there are these series I like a lot, which used to be aired in my country a few years ago, but for a very short time, approximately 2 seasons. That's the only russian translation of the series. I couldn't find any english version, like the show was never aired in English speaking countries (which is really weird). And this show doesn't seem ( Read more... )

LOL

I´m not good neither in guessing nor in knowing German TV shows..*giggles* Hardly ever watch them..so...please tell me which TV show it is!! I´m way too nosy to not know this!! *giggles* But I agree, watching a TV show in a foreign language helps a lot to improve the language skills...:)

Wait a minute..is it Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten?????? LOOOOOOL For some years I thought I couldn´t live without it..but I quit watching it..the weird plot twists were annoying me too much! :)

*just finished another episode*
Improve, yeah, that's being the operative word here. To improve smth you must first know smth. Which is so not my case. *gg* The only thing I can improve here is my imagination, while trying to figure out what's going on by the picture alone. :D But somehow it's interesting even being watched like this.

And no, it's not Good Times, Bad Times (which I actually saw once upon a time! LOOOL) It can't be a soap-opera, you can't watch soap-operas without knowing what the characters are saying to each other, because social interactions are the whole idea of a soap-opera. This "silent film" style of mine only works with action stuff, I think. ...so that's another hint: it's action. And it's quite popular. Airs on RTL, I thought you had this channel in Austria... No?

Action? On RTL? In German?? Ooookay then it has to be that weird Autobahn Cops-show...Cobra 11 or something?? (God I so suck in those kind of things..LOL)
And yes, we do have that channel via cable TV..but I only watch Bones and CSI Miami on it..LOL

ROFL I love the description! That weird show is the correct answer, it's Alarm für Cobra 11. *giggles like a loon* The first eps are so charming, with all those old wired phones and cars you'd rarely see still running nowadays... love that 90s feeling. The only other time I like more is the 80s and the GDR style.
...oh. Now you think I'm weird, right? :D

I know what you mean. Cobra 11 works for me only because it's the German Autobahn (even though I completely agree with the "no way!" :D) I was never into that kind of shows before which helps a lot too: i've never seen the american versions, so... *gg*
Actually, it's your country that had in a way unique show made. Yeah, I'm talking about Kommissar Rex again (I could never leave this topic alone!) I know there were movies about police dogs and such. But i've never seen the whole series. I think this is the case where making the series is ten times harder than movie. I mean, the lead actor is a dog, no matter how well he is trained...

You'd be laughing, but I'm not. I watched MacGyver TODAY. That "old stuff" feeling must have triggered it, for sure.
Ohhh and Knight Rider, my love! I didn't have a chance to grow up with these shows, but I had time to fully appreciate them later. I grew up with ALF though... :D

YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED MACGYVER TODAY - NO YOU HAVEN´T!! *rofl*

OMG How awesome!! God I wished to see my first (TV) love again..*sigh* I really was and still am obsessed with it - I mean it! I guess I saw every episode at least 20 times and I watch every re-run I can find..I know most of the episodes by heart and even my mum is astonished how I - after let´s say, a 10 year´s break - I still know some lines by heart..I tell you, it´s crazy! LOOL
Yup..Knight Rider was sooo cool! I loved it very much!

Unfortunately I have to go to bed now..*sigh* It´s absolutely great to talk to you again..so I hope we´ll "see" each other again soon!!
*hugs* & Good Night!! ♥
