I have an apartment. Or at least I will, come Friday.
I'll be in Albuquerque, in a cozy one-bedroom that's half of a duplex. My friend Roslee has the other half, so that's cool. Big backyard, decent sized rooms and affordable. Room for visitors, too!
My new address will be 511 Quincy Pl SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
The reason I won't be in the new place till Friday is that the landlord is doing some work on the place. New furnace, some minor repairs and touching up paint. He wants to put a new kitchen floor in eventually, but I can certainly live with the current one for now!
My work schedule's a bit crazy, as usual, so there's at least a couple nights that I'll still stay in Santa Fe, and I'll probably do a hotel one of those nights, just for the sake of the shower ;-). Now that I have an end in sight, I can deal with it. I have crash space in Abq that I can use, too, when it's not a midnight commute. (Tonight would be, so it's a truck night. Gotta work in the morning. Crash space tomorrow.)
To all my friends, local or distant: Thank you. Your support and love has kept me going more than I can express. Even those who felt I should return to the Midwest have understood my reasons for staying out here, and were saying it out of concern and love. As down as I have gotten, I know that it's only been all of you who've kept me from collapsing totally. I cannot thank you enough.
