[The camera turns on, and at first it's hard to figure out what it's showing, because it's upside down. Nearby, at the left is a gun on the ground, and further away is one of the clear water containment tanks outside of the hospital. Behind the tank, on the wall, is written in what can only be blood: FAE

[No, this was nothing at all like what Cain expected to see on the Network this afternoon. But there's no doubt in his mind that this must be murder. Now it's a matter of where she is, who she is, what happened, and who is responsible for it.

And, perhaps, if there's still time left for her, by some strange, odd, chance.]

[ooc: If you'd like, Cain can find her, look for her, or at least raise an alarm. But I leave it up to you, of course, in case you've got plots rolling already.]

[Water tanks, the wall--where are there water tanks like this one? It takes him a moment, and he has to think--the visits he's paid to the hospital for one reason or another, paying a call to Megumi, or just on one of his many walks--it must be the hospital. Only the hospital had tanks like that

[She's floating in the tank; no sign of getting up]

[He's clambering up the side of the tank and hoping she's close enough to reach.

How much ought he to disturb the scene, though? He could pull her out of the tank and see what happened, and certainly preserve the word on the wall. And then, along with her--or what's left of her...

He perches at the top edge of the tank--no, he's not exactly skilled at or used to doing this sort of thing--looking down at her, floating in the water, bleeding into it.

Is she dead or alive? It would be a difficult thing indeed, if she were alive.

At least they were close to the hospital.

Right, then. He reaches for her, to grab something nearby floating in the water--hand, hair, arm, sleeve, shirt-collar, something, anything. Pull her out, see what happened.

Come on, then...closer...closer... He'd rather not end up in the water with her, of course, not when the water itself might hold some clue.]

[She floats easily when he tugs her, and when he pulls her out, blood will ooze from her skin onto him; but the only wound visible is where there's red on the back of her green shirt in a wide circle]

[There's a small cry of surprise when he manages to pull her from the water and just a bit, just barely over the edge of the tank. Blood--everywhere, but only that one wound in her back. But so much blood

[When he sets her down water begins to dribble out of her mouth - not slowly, but quickly. She's not breathing, but if Cain checks, her heart is beating...sluggishly.]

[She'd swallowed more than a little, clearly. How long was she in there? That might explain the blue lips, but not the black eyes. (He was more accustomed to these sorts of things after having been in the City so long as he had, but, still, there were peculiarities that surprised even him

[The water trickles faster now, and the blood pools alongside it, a little unnaturally. Eden's Sid responds to magic, and the moment that Cain applies it, it takes that power, using it to contract her lungs once, twice, enough to cough up the rest of the water. There is a moment, and then Eden takes a very shallow breath, her eyes still black, then another one.]

[Did it work? Yes, it seems to have worked--somehow. She's breathing--shallowly, yes, but breathing. So she hasn't died. She's weak and hurt still, yes, but she's alive.

He'll keep at this a moment more before he tries to carry her into the hospital proper. They'll be able to better tend to her than he can, certainly. He can at least pull her back from the brink of death--and he realizes the irony of all that--and they can mend her further.]

[She's breathing extremely shallowly, and the blood has stopped. Her eyes are slowly going back to normal as he carries her]

[Though her breathing is shallow, she seems to be recovering.

[Well, he'll keep at it, but after she's recovered a bit. She'll have to be put in the care of a doctor. And once she's tended to, once Cain's explained what he saw, he'll go back to the scene and see what he can see...]
