Completed in a week ! :D tvN has scored so well in my drama books, wonder where they find their writers from.
That said, was not quite as good as I expected it to be but I really enjoyed the otherwise pretty tight storyline and great chemistry between the leads, despite having so many loose ends not really quite tied up. But since the focus is on the guy who does not want to marry and the girl who does, why bother about the others ?
A summary of the show -
Well, not really. (Although some of it is too true !)
Jang Mi is a girl who wants to get married and she has prepped a wonderful proposal for her boyfriend Hoon Dong - who is not the marrying kind. Gi Tae, who shares the exact sentiments as his best friend just happens to be in the vicinity and after much persuasion (and bribery), decides to give his friend a hand and crash the proposal to save his buddy. And that is when their affinity begins.
When Gi Tae's mom who keeps pestering him to get married sees him being accosted by Jang Mi (cause she wants to find out where Hoon Dong is and is also angry that he wrecked her proposal), she takes the opportunity to invite her to his home. Much confusion later, Gi Tae decides to use the invitation to cook up a dating-cum-marriage plan with Jang Mi, promising her the opportunity to take revenge on her ex while also helping Gi Tae stay single - just cause she is the total opposite of the perfect daughter-in-law his mom is looking for.
TLDR: hijinks commence and they get embroiled in a fake relationship that spirals INCREASINGLY out of control.
You know what they say: beatings show fondness, scoldings mean love.
What I like about this drama is that it doesn't mince its words and it points out things realistically. Also perhaps cause most K dramas are so unrealistic it is most refreshing to watch something that is not too far from reality. Don't people like that more than ultra fictional stuff like alien professors ?
For first time leads (I think), Han Groo and Yeon Woo Jin have pretty good chemistry and do pretty well in the light-hearted romcom genre.
Fake it until you make it. And when you do, you won't be able to turn back ...
Close shave - LOL
She. Tried. To. Take. The. Fish. Out. To. Make. Stew.
I. Die.
You said you wanna stop helping him and starting getting closer with Yeo Reum but here you are Jang Mi kissing him out of trouble !!! I still wanna thank aunt for making this happen though LOL. Also ROFL at Gi Tae backing away from Jang Mi, cause he knows what she is capable of, and later on his eyes widening and deepening the kiss cause there is some attraction between the two after all.
Gi Tae ... Y U NO ABS ? ! ? ! ? I am disappoint.
PIVOTAL KISS SCENE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING FOREVAAAHHHHHHH
Jang Mi always there for Gi Tae - trying to open his heart. When he does though, he realises something really important -
GAH THIS SCENE IS SO WELL DONE THE EMOTIONS DONE SO RIGHT
At this point he realises how far gone into this sham relationship and denying their feelings - futile.
Someone's excited ...
Female bonding - having a common enemy. I liked that although Gi Tae's mom took a breather and fought like crazy with the evil mistress, she did not just readily accept Jang Mi for standing up for her - she knows she will have to try her darndest to like this less-than-perfect but somehow special daughter-in-law. #REALISMFTW No human being would just suddenly start liking a person for taking their side - like with every relationship on this show, the change is slow, then gradually picks up pace, but never takes place overnight. Good job, writers !
Ah shucks, I can't remember where this scene is from -
But I really really really wanted this to happen !!! >.< Damn you Se Ah for showing up at all the wrong times !!!
Really liked the fact that it was Gi Tae who discovered his feelings for Jang Mi - she changed him in so many ways and this made him fall in love with her.
That are not of the same size - I can't be the only one who noticed this every time Gi Tae cries ?
LOL at the way he asks - I kind of wished Jang Mi would be a lot more assertive than shy here though.
A Gong Gi Tae kind of proposal. I like. #HEARTSINEYES

I think Ben's (from Bebe Mignon) voice is great for this kind of chirpy tunes but TBH it annoys me every time it plays for the first 43 seconds before the drama streaming begins. Partially cause I don't actually like these kind of cute-sy sounding songs and Ben's voice is a little too cute in this.

Mamamoo - I APPROVE. Love their voices and find them spunky. Plus they always look like they are having fun when they are singing - could just be a concept but this is something I could go for, instead of the robotic dance idols I see on music shows all the time.

Who is this Kim Na Young ??? Anyhoo, this is my favourite song in this entire show cause TYPICAL KOREAN BALLADS ! XD I want to slap myself for stating the obvious but really sometimes I cannot resist a good ole slow number that reminds me of this great show.
Now I'm wondering if I should move on to Let's Eat ...
