delphi, the mountains and the oracle

May 12, 2007 21:10

i'm watching eurovision in delphi, greece. strange mixture of modern/ancient.

i climbed around in the mountains a little with my brother and an american girl travelling alone for SIX MONTHS and saw the temple of apollo, the treasury, the theater, the stadium, some pillars, some unidentifiable remains, some mediterranean landscape and amazing views over the mountains. greece is lovely.

returning to athens tomorrow, wary of our hotel in omonia square - i picked a high crime area, woo!

we'll see the parthenon and the acropolis tomorrow and i don't know what else because i came to greece without a guidebook - tragic.

the next day i think we'll get a ferry to aegina because i think the islands get the better of modern athens.

so all that is very nice. only thing bringing me down is having to study for soonsoonexams while in greece and margaret lee always thinking my work is bad and not approving my survey and thereby denying me the 3175 dollars that belongs in my bank account riiiight now and will only come once i get approved. sigh.
