since i last posted, life has been so psychopatically busy (and so indescribably fantastic) that i have had no spare second to even write in my actual diary, let alone post for the consumption of others. but it was getting ridiculous, so this is a quick 'hello' from 'My Life Is INCREDIBLE' land. I cannot possibly hope to do justice to the last few weeks, but when I wake up in the morning, I am so, so excited to start my day I can't even tell you.
The Young Women's Conference was the catalyst. I came back full of new determinations and a sense of mission and vitality I have never before experienced. My work days are getting longer, as are my hours at the gym and at Buddhist activities. I come home late and leave the house early, but - as I explained to my personal trainer, Kevin, when he expressed bafflement regarding my constant rescheduling - there is absolutely nothing that I would rather be doing with my time. My job is getting more challenging and more interesting, and even though it's sometimes stressful I'm delighted to feel engaged. I love waking up with my muscles aching like they did when I was playing rugby...I can't even explain how much I missed that feeling. I can't wait to get on the field again. And as for SGI...well, before the conference, I was usually the only young woman at my district meetings, although another girl from York U did come when her school schedule allowed. Tonight I had a district meeting at my house and there were FIVE university girls there, all of whom are now active in the district. And at least two of them (hopefully all) will be joining me at the student conference at Caledon - for which I was asked to be one of the coordinators!
This weekend I'm tree planting at the Credit Valley Conservation area with other SGI youth and watching FIFA. and seeing friends.
I leave in 15 weeks and I love that it's the last thing I have time to think about - life is right here and right now.
