DONE!
Done with finals! Wrote a long paper on some family property in downtown Santa Rosa. It ended up being 20 pages with the essay, resources, maps and pictures. It took about 10 hours just to write it (without breaks). I had quite a bit of information and didn't use it all, but I'm still disappointed in the way it turned out. I spoke with relatives, neighbors and did hours of research at the local history and genealogy annex of the Sonoma County library and the city of Santa Rosa Department of Community Development (city planning office). I needed to go to the Sonoma County Assessor's Office. I had planned on going, but just like City Hall, they are open only while I'm at school/work. I could go work early to leave earlier, but I could not miss class. I heard, when it was already too late, they have a lot of information on the properties that I was researching, since someone had submitted a research project about them already. :( Oh, well. I did the best I could with what I had.
I'm still going to go down there for the sake of finding out more about the family businesses. I'm going in tomorrow after an early shift at work. My mom told me she wants my paper as a Christmas present. So I still have time to edit the essay again and add in the new information and pictures.
