the bell was ringing rampantly throughout the school. mirai was already late on her first class but she ran straight to her locker. she immediately opened the door of her locker with an expectant look on her face, excitedly rummaging every corner, every nook of what’s inside. then she paused for a moment and took a breath and sighed so heavily. her face turned dull and from there she strolled on her way to the classroom. funny how her mood changed on that instant. just what was she expecting from there? .. she reached the classroom looking the same, greeted and apologized to her sensei. she received a little sermon and replied with just yes-es and nods, still having that dejected look on her face. she made her way to her sit then the class continued with the discussion. the guy sitting beside mirai jostled her and asked, “where’ve you been?” mirai mouthed the words ‘my locker’ to him. she frowned and curved her lips down. the guy snickered and just smiled.
two classes ended and mirai head out to grab lunch on the cafeteria when yuto, her bestfriend, showed up in front of her and hugged her tightly. mirai smiled and wasn't surprised by yuto's impulsive action because she always does that to her (yes yuto is a girl in here *wink*) "i am so craving for chicken sandwich" yuto said. she was rumbling about how she was craving for chicken meat, how she couldn't wait to stuff food in her mouth, how exasperating the math class had been, how boring her classmates were. she talked about it all continuously, without wasting a second and without noticing mirai's gloomy vibe. eventually she scrutinized mirai's aura. they reached the cafeteria, ordered food and sat at their favorite spot.
before yuto could ask for why she’s beholding a displeasing sight in front of her, mirai started explaining "it feels like my world turned upside down, like something has gone wrong, something is missing and yes there is something that is missing. i grew fond of it despite of how mysterious it is. just like how you hug me every time i leave the room for lunch." she kept on jabbing the fork on the meat on her plate. her forlorn feelings somehow turned into anger. yuto suddenly stopped relishing the chicken sandwich. "holy shit. so mr. clark kent didn't invade your locker today?!" she reacted violently, joining mirai in torturing the already tortured meat. she continued without waiting for mirai's yes, "yesterday, he was like exposing as to why he's calling himself as mr. clark kent.." making a quoting gesture, emphasizing the name. mirai interrupted ".. i know right, because he is superman and he is too weak for me and is a loser when it comes to me" yuto cringed at this statement "no offense, but after reading that letter from yesterday, i almost threw up due to its cheesiness" then both burst into laughter "no, no, levity aside, though this guy has this shivering sweetness on him, i can truly feel his sincerity for you and he really cares for you. he was doing this for two straight months, that's no joke, ne?" yuto added. "omygahd, you're the one who's giving me creeps now" mirai laughed anxiously but admitted she has a point
the guy on the same class with mirai put his tray down on the table, sat beside yuto and bumped her from the side. yuto promptly smacked his shoulder brutally and shouted, “you’re such an asshole brother!” “same to you sister” he replied. mirai was laughing in front of the two siblings and said “yamada you’re so cruel. stop bullying your sister who is a virile chatterbox” teasing yuto. the three continued chatting and teasing as they talked about mirai’s plight.
as the three were leaving the cafeteria to go back to their respective rooms, yamada sneaked behind mirai and slid a letter on her bag. yuto witnessed what he did and winked at her.
