I figured chiron14 was Andy, though I've comprehensively lost touch with him. (I exchange the odd card with Graham Peters though.) Haven't seen the Eyre kids for a while so not sure how much point there would be in linking them in. Still, why not?
I have heard only a deafening silence out of Selby for some time: nothing last Christmas though I note Chris is still doing Compuserve stuff so hasn't totally crashed and burned yet. I am aware that Chris had, er, issues but last time I had contact there was an air of cautious optimism. I take it that has evaporated.
Do tell me how to lock the hoi polloi out of our exchanges (or give me an email address) and we can speak further on the business.

OK. You can select how visible any post is individually on the page from which you post a new entry. There's a drop-down menu which allows you to choose different settings:
Or you can go into the "Admin Console" and set a higher security level as standard.
shows the bar at the top with all the drop-down menus which give access to all the bells and whistles. You can also create a custom filter - or several - so that your posts only reach the people you choose - if I have a personal post I may not want it to be read by people who are only interested in reading my stories - or vice versa. I've created a filter for just you and will make a post in a minute to demonstrate it working - and fill you in a bit more.
There are a lot of FAQ pages to help you sort such things out - the basic URL is http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=6, where the number "6" can be replaced with rather a lot of others. 24 is particularly helpful in this respect.
Does that make sense? There will be a test at the end of term...
