As she hasn't mentioned it on LJ (and for that matter I haven't heard the delicate steam-whistle sound of Othen Affrontata) I'm prepared to bet that Gillian O has not yet read of this planned film.

Actually, I had heard of it. Way too silly to get worked up about, any more than the infamous P&P with zombies.

You see? Some things are just beneath my notice...

Yes, dear. that's why I entitled that "sequel" 'Concussion' rather than anything P&P-related, AND described it as a sideways move. Not like you to be that slow on the uptake: or were you just checking that all those hours of dinning into me the superior nature of the sublimely bland Miss E had not been totally wasted? (Note for the perplexed: Persuasion - Gill's fave JA, my least so.) Actually 'Concussion' fits rather well with the tribulations of Miss Elliot, I feel. Anyway, who in P&P could have come out with a line like that? Only Jane, and it's not quite her tone somehow IMHO.

Meanwhile, enjoy the version where Darcy pursues Lydia and Wickham to Brighton and then London with a hundred crazed pagans before rescuing Lydia and burning her lover alive in a gigantic human figure as a sacrifice to the gods of English Literature: The Wickham Man.

Coming soon: Bingley, the Vampire Slayer.
