There is a show, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, entitled "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?". If someone can beat 5th-grade knowledge, they can win a million dollars.
What is depressing isn't that such a show exists. Game shows are often retarded.
What is depressing is that there are losers. Adult losers. Adults who do not know more than 10-year-olds. That simply should not happen at the frequency it does. It really shouldn't ever happen, but certainly adults should be winning this so much that they run out of money and have to stop the show eventually.
Says it all about the average person out there, I guess...
