"excuse me," i tried to interrupt the woman's stock work as gently as possible, "i noticed that you only have snowboarding wrist guards in youth small/mediums. do you have any medium/larges or adult sizes?"
"nope," she said, rising from her bent position in the stock area, "but you should try on the youth sizes."
she lead me over and opened one of the packages. handing me a guard, she noticed the boots box i was toting, and probably the gleam in my eyes. joy. "you heading up this weekend?"
i slid my hand into the tight, but not too tight, hand sock. "nah. i'm not going to make it up this season at all really." the wrist guard fit, and i grinned at her.
"preparing for next season already?!" she laughed.
"sure am!" i grinned at her and added, "its never too soon for next season!"
i can't shake off my smile. just one 10am trip for snowboarding gear, and my day is officially MADE!
