New Year, New Ficathon. Haven't participated yet, but it sure looks fun.
And while I'm pimping . . .
{
RULES AND SIGNUPS} ~ {
LEAVE A PROMPT}
I take this Sister Ship thing seriously. So I support Cangel. Even if I don't particulary like the "Angel" part of it.
In other news, I have a date Saturday night. I'm very excited about this, but my mom borrows her best friend's copy of "The Rules for Online Dating" (yes, those Rules), and I spazzed out a bit at the insinuation that I would ever need a book like that (not to mention the anti-feminism-ness of those books), and my mom and I got into a bit of a snarky row about how I have no clue about guys and how they think. My mom and dad met and were engaged six weeks later (and have been married for 29 years), and I think a part of her wants it to be that easy for me, so she's trying to give me every "advantage" she can think of. She's well meaning, at least.
I bought some cute textured tights for my date, and some awesome knee-high kicky black boots to go with a grey skirt I have, and I'll probably borrow a top from my sister, because she's far more stylish than me in her hipster-but-not-a-hipster way (because apparently "the minute you label yourself a hipster you are no longer a hipster" or something - I love the way her brilliant 17-year-old mind works).
I've been going to the gym at least twice a week for about six weeks now, and I haven't seen any improvement in the figure department (thank you holiday season), but my body is stronger than it has been in a long time, and if the guy likes me when I'm ten to twently pounds above my normal weight (thank you antidepressants as well), boy howdy will he like me when the exercise and eating right kick in. That was sarcasm, btw.
