Where my Spuffies at?! (Yes, I've always wanted to say that)

Anyway, for my seasonal_spuffy entry in a couple weeks, I need a little input. I'm trying to narrow down a definitive Top 10 Spuffy Moments list, and I need everyone you know to vote! So, click the shiny little boxes with the ten moments you think are the creme de la creme of Spike and Buffy in the ( Read more... )

I only picked six out of the choices you gave. If you want, I can think about it tomorrow and come back and give you 4 more. :)

For some reason your offer of four more with the smiley face just cracked me up.

Well, I didn't want to sound like I was saying the others I rejected weren't Spuffy moments. They are; they just aren't *my* favorite moments.

I love smiley faces. I wish we could do real smileys on here. Especially the raspberry one.

DO IT! I just listed these off the top of my (and angearia's) head, so if you have more, please list them! I'm going for DEFINITIVE, so I can use the word DEFINITIVE in my seasonal_spuffy work. Yeah, I am that pretentious.

I'm so glad to see that others besides me picked "Fool for Love" - "Death is your art"/"You're beneath me". I was feeling a bit weird for choosing that for a Spuffy moment. I liked it so much because it showed how unlikeable both these characters were at times.

My other 4 choices are:

From Becoming, part 2-

Joyce: (hysterical) Who is this man? (to Spike) Who are you? (to Buffy) Are you okay?

Buffy: Mom! I'm-I'm okay.

Joyce: Buffy, terrible things have happened. What were you doing?

Spike: What, your mum doesn't know?

Buffy glares at Spike.

Joyce: (to Spike) Know what?

Buffy: (faces her mom) That I'm, uh... in a band. A-a rock band with Spike here. (shoots Spike a look)

Spike: Right. She plays the, the triangle.

Buffy: Drums.

Spike: Drums, yeah. She's, uh, hell on the old skins, you know.

Joyce: (unconvinced) Hmm. And, uh, what do you do?

Spike: Well, I sing.

I like that scene so much because Buffy and Spike are such terrible liars in it.

From the episode Pangs:

Spike : Oh, someone put a stake in me ( ... )

And...

From Checkpoint:

SPIKE: (surprised) So, what's with the family outing?
BUFFY: (quietly, walking up close to him) I need your help.
SPIKE: Great. I need your cash.
BUFFY: I'm serious. (even more quietly) You have to look after them.
SPIKE: Well, that's a boatload of manly responsibility to come flying out of nowhere. What's the matter, Slayer? You're not feeling a hundred percent?
BUFFY: (frowns) No.
SPIKE: (frowns) They didn't put a chip in your head, did they?
BUFFY: No!
SPIKE: Be funny if they did.
BUFFY: (annoyed) Spike, I need an answer. Now. In or out? (quietly) You're the only one strong enough to protect them.
SPIKE: (looks at her for a moment) All right then.

I especially love this moment is because it happens *before* the kiss in "Intervention". There was no logical reason for Buffy to trust Spike at that point .. except, she did. I always thought that said a lot.

And last but by no means least, from the episode "After Life":

SPIKE: Buffy ( ... )

I love both of those too! This exchange always makes me giggle:
"They didn't put a chip in your head did they?"
"No!"
"Be funny if they did."

I love that scene from Becoming, too. I was going to bring it up... but now I don't have to. I love how they just effortlessly fall into a pattern of teamwork--the terrible lying, the slaying the vampire on the porch. And they're just so FUNNY together. Love it.
