TV Meme + Good News

Dec 21, 2011 14:13

So LJ's pulling a bunch of crap on us. I just (just!) spent fifty bucks renewing my account and buying icons, then this happens. So I'm testing out cross posting at Dreamwidth. We'll see if this becomes a permanent thing. I already miss my gorgeous layout from
nvrbnkisst. This makes me sad.

Anyway, good news! My paper on feminism within the fandom has been accepted to be presented at the Western Social Sciences Association's National Conference in the Women's Studies division! Yay! So I get to chill with
xlivvielockex in Houston and show off all the hard work I've done! Now I just need to finish the damn thing!

On to the meme-age.

Which TV shows did you start watching in 2011?

Game of Thrones, Ringer, Parks and Recreation, Pan Am, Once Upon a Time, Misfits, Downton Abbey. But I need to catch up on Pan Am. Among other shows that I've terribly neglected in a flurry of paper writing. I haven't even seen a single Christmas episode!

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?

I have an on again, off again thing with Glee. I'll give it up, then the BFF will call me about some big thing happening to Brittania, and I'll have to begin watching it again.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?

The Wire, Breaking Bad, finishing The West Wing. The Borgias. Catching up on Fringe and Supernatural and Being Erica. I have no time for the shows I'm already watching, and my laptop screen is small so it's hard to watch downloaded TV and go on tumblr at the same time. So no double tasking.

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?

I hold out hope that Alcatraz can be the new Lost for me, because I loved that damn crazy show. Mad Men comes back, and I'm excited for season 2 of Game of Thrones. As for new to me shows? Maybe I'll finally get to watching Leverage and Justified. And sit my ass down and watch all those The Hour downloads I have on my computer!

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?

Ringer. Though it fits in the so bad it's good category. Sorry, Sarah. And Jason Dohring.

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?

Glee. I wish I knew how to quit you.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?

Parks and Recreation got me out of a deep depression. Game of Thrones was exactly how I imagined it would be, and it's scope was nothing short of epic. I hate to admit it, but I'm more excited for season 2 than The Hobbit. Game of Thrones has girls.

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?

Community. I'm sticking with this show through thick and thin. #sixseasonsandamovie

Shows I watched and loved that aren't mentioned on this list because I started them in another year

The X-Files, The Vampire Diaries, Doctor Who, Being Human. I dreamed I began a Lost rewatch, and I kinda want to start one now.
